Fake currency in Sahaj Marg

In the recent past, few spiritual groups from India are in media view for all the wrong reasons. First one is that of Aasaram bapu, he is charged with attempted murder and various other similar charges, other one is Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

Just a few days back (30th Dec. 2009 to be precise) two foreign national were held by Chennai police for overstaying their visa period and possessing fake currency notes.

Kindly refer to news article published Deccan Chronicle (http://www.deccanchronicle.com/chennai/iranian-woman-nabbed-counterfeit-currency-mall-712), the report says that both these abhyasis of sahaj marg had overstayed their valid visa period and for reasons best known to Shri Ram Chandra mission, it was not checked or informed to the police that these two abhyasis are overstaying in India.

Complete article reads as follows:-

Dec. 29: The city police on Monday arrested an Iranian woman who reportedly possessed fake currency and tried to purchase several articles from a well-known mall in Mylapore. They also seized counterfeit currency with the face value of Rs 27,500.
Further investigations revealed that the accused Ashraf Murtazavi (62) and her daughter Salomi Afthahi (29) hailing from Iran, held visas that had expired a few months ago and had overstayed.

The duo claimed that they came to India a few months ago to take meditation classes at a centre in Manapakkam. On Monday evening around 5.30 pm, the two went for shopping at a popular mall in Mylapore. When they handed over Rs 4,000 at the cash counter for settling the bills, the shop owner suspected the authenticity of the notes and alerted the police. The Mylapore police who rushed to the spot found that the currency notes were fake and picked up the two women for enquiry. Investigations revealed Ashraf Murtazavi was the one who held the fake notes and her daughter had no connections with it. “Ashraf Murtazavi claims that she got the currency notes from a Noor money exchanger which is under the supervision of Central bank of Iran. After enquiry we seized counterfeit notes with the face value of Rs 27,500 including the notes they had given at the mall,” said A.G Mourya, deputy commissioner, Mylapore.

This news article was published in various newspaper across india, which include times of india, Chennai town, The Hindu, Zee News and many more...

There are more details in the Times of india report which has published the statement of Mylapore deputy commissioner of police, it says:-

Asraf and Salom-e-Abtahi were in Chennai to attend meditation sessions at the Sri Ramachandra Mission Babuji Meditation Centre in Manapakkam. They had visited the city in July this year and stayed for more than 15 days.

“We have to verify whether Asraf had collected Indian currency from the exchange in Iran. We are also verifying if she had contacted any other person during her stay in the ashram in Manapakkam. We inspected her room in Manapakkam and collected some documents. We have asked immigration officials to check whether they are frequent visitors to Chennai and how long they had stayed here earlier. Also, whether they tendered fake currency at other shops in the city,” Mylapore deputy commissioner of police AG Mourya told The Times Of India.

These two abhyasis in addition to overstaying in india also had fake Indian currency notes, one of them is now arrested and other one is detained for questioning. Babuji Memorial ashram in chennai was also searched in this connection by police and their other contacts in SRCM are also under police scanner.

Sahaj marg as a practice promotes money laundering, and dealing in black money, if we take the comment of Joelly at its face value, P. Rajagopalachari insists on having money in cash and not in form of cheques or in a form in which it can be traced.

So is this spirituality? like Aasaram bapu, P. Rajagopalachari is a fake manipulative cunning and dis-honest person, these people are playing with the emotions of innocent people who seek spirituality, while looking for spirituality victims are trapped in fraud and manipulation and are made to commit crimes which under normal circumstances they would not have done.

In case of Aasaram bapu, those who follow him are called "Sadhak" (one who practice) in case of SRCM followers are called "Abhyasis" (one who practice) these cult use such names to trap people.

If you are a follower of sahaj marg and are reading this note, kindly open yourself to the possibility that sahaj marg is a fraud, it has got nothing to do with spirituality and all the gooblygoody talks of brighter world are nothing more then fooling tactics to milk you of your money, open your eyes and see the truth.

If you do not wake up now, you might well be caught doing some illegal activity like the two foreign national abhyasis of SRCM arrested in India for indulging in illicit activities, or like many followers of Aasaram bapu, or like followers of Dera saccha sauda.

Wake up before it gets too late and all doors are closed to you.

  2. I was engaged to someone who is aa abhiyasi of Sahaj Marg and i recently went to the chennai ashram with him (we are from the uk) to see what its all about as i am not a follower of sahaj marg.......Master was travelling and was not in the ashram but while we were there he introduced me to a french medium called Catherine who says the is going to be the next master of Sahaj Marg not Ajay Bhatter as has been stated by Chariji. She told my fiancee that we had to leave india that night( we had only been there 2 nights), she told hin to break up with me...move out of the house we share and he did all these things. Is this what sahaj marg is about? Breaking families up and ending relationships! Its a big scam and everyone in it should be very carefull.

  3. Hi Anonymous,

get out of this cocoon and get out in open and challenge this cult in their face.. that will do the job.

Please take this sincere advice, do not get involved with zombies of sahaj marg, they are immune to love and understanding of humans, they are brain-dead creatures and cannot reciprocate love with compassion, getting involved with them emotionally is a crime and price for that is an emotional scar on you for rest of your life..

    BE-AWARE of sahaj marg!

Bless yourself that you are lucky and are saved from becoming another zombie of their kind, that break-up was for your good, Congrats for getting out from a cult trap.. there is/was no point in getting involved with brain-dead person, if he can simply walk away from you ONLY because someone has asked him to do.. thank God he did not offer you to someone else..

    You are saved.

  4. Thank you!

We had set up a house, we were engaged and we were planning a wedding. I am indian and he is english and this was a big deal for my family. I can see now that he is a zombie, totally controlled by Sahaj Marg. He had to take advice from them for everything-where to live, where to work etc.
He even thought our marriage had been arranged by Chariji and only got with me bacause of that then this silly women, catherine told him that Charijis soul said to her that he wanted our relationship to end and so we emailed him and asked him and he said no he wanted us to stay together and be happy. But my fiancee he still ended it because this Catherine says she is the next Master.
Its all so strange in sahaj marg, everyone seems to be brainwashed.
All my family say i have had a narrow escape and now i agree!
BEWARE OF SAHAJ MARG EVERYONE-IT COULD RUIN YOUR LIFE.......

  5. Dear Anonymous,

Don't you think this is absolute nonsense? a living persons soul tells someone that someone should marry someone else!!! this is the story of sahaj marg, it is based on communication in dreams (babuji talking to lalaji in his dreams) and this has now come to this extent that living people do not communicate to each other directly but their souls talk to each other in their dreams and then they fight with each other stating their soul did not said that what other claiming!!!

This is utterly foolish, but a dangerous sign that there are people who believe in such things and are not under medical care but are free to roam in our society.

Now coming to your story, i personally do not think that inter racial marriages do succeed in long run, have a look at marriage of Michael Saki ()http://innnercircleofsrcm.blogspot.com) he was also married to an Indian women by chari, the women ended up in prison for attempting to kill his children and now they are happily divorced, Michael is happy doing his job and his ex-wife is happy doing her time in prison.

Any marriage which is not based on love and respect for each other and their family is bound to break down as holding factor of love was missing, in your case it was based on that persons perception that it is due to sahaj marg and there is no surprise that he ran away from the relation when he was made to realize that basis of relation (sahaj marg) does not hold true..

This is as stupid can stupidity can be.. but we still have people falling in trap of this cult and becoming zombies... this is what is called karma..

  8. SAHAJ marg is a business, people who are managing it are there just to make money out of it.

It is a good time-pass activity for the retiered people who have nothing but someting to kill their time.

Young and working people who have their life ahead of them should stay away from all this bakwaas and concentrate on making their life a happy place to live.

  9. Its a shame, people in this organisation call themselves brother-sisters. They address each other as brother to males and sister to females.

Later, when they find the right opportunity, they marry each other. Its a shame.

People join Sahaj Marg for fun, there are many outdoor and indoor activities that help people to mate. You will know all this once you have been and out there. Shame.

  10. Shaswat,

I have been reading your posts, even though I was never directly associated with this marg, I have had friends/colleages associated with this for long time; I never got interested into it simply because of the same questions I had 14 years back when I knew these ppl, I noticed these folks lost commensense and behaved like slaves or zombies as your describe; Master will say this or that or they have to ask master for every small thing; mostly I got pissed off when they said the master will decided the marrige partner not their parents or themselves (which is good at least if they can choose their own life partner). Being believed everyone is equal and totally against individual worship, I thought that I would never workout for me. I guess we need people like to tell as it is; I am sure someone will understand and learn from it and get out of this system. Based on seeing lot of these Abhiyasi geting upset I bet many of these are reading and am sure some will understand and get out of it.

  11. Found this in another blog site; that was about another cult but this is interesting video/cartoon about CULTs.

Take a break to watch this episode of The Simpsons. Good laugh guaranteed, though a tragic comedy for many of us who recognize many scenes, reactions, phrases, thought processes as our very own for as long as we belonged to the AoL - the joy of sect, with the Guru of joy who promised joy forever as long as you faked it until you made it.

See how many things you recognize. I will start the list:

it's free, the leader, low protein diet, blisstonia, "bhajans", nanananananana leader!, the circle of judgement, "I am dustier!", etc.

  12. I really appreciate your efforts in bringing up the truth to public. I am not in this trap, but I observed a couple of my friends in this trap who are living outside of our conventional society under this leader. Why don't you bring this up to TV9 so that they can investigate and show the truth to public.

  13. Shashat,

What is your opinion of the meditation practice, in and of itself, without any involvement in the organization?

Also, what's your take on the other branches of Sahaj Marg - those not associated with Chari such as the practioners connected to Sister Kasturi, for example?

    Thank you!

  14. meditation in any form is not bad, if you sit quietly that is also meditation, there are thousands of ways described in hindu text, and all are good except those which claim exclusivity and worst are those who claim to have registered a trade-mark.

I have had a long discussion with kasturi and same is posted in youtube, you can listen to it and make opinion of your own. I found her somewhat frustrated for some reason.

  15. All above is BULL SHIT.

Do you people know about SRCM.?
Do you ever stayed in their Ashrams.?
Do You practiced what they thought and how to meditate.?

I had been in touch with SRCM from 25 years, as my parents
Were following them since before my birth.

    Initially
@ unlike others, SRCM doesn't Charge money for
    The meditations they offer..!
@ they charge for books you buy and charges for the
Minimum expenses of stay during the functions held
    Within SRCM.
@ they provide free food all the abhyasis.!
@ they charge you only if you buy some thing from their
    Stores and cafeteria..!
    @ no registration fee..
@ no fee to stay within Ashrams..

There is nothing you are going to pay except for
Which you buy for your interest .!

Nobody forces you to buy or pay bucks to the ashram..!

Since no money is involved where from you get
The chance of calling it a SCAM..!?

The money they have is from personal donations
Those are submitted in your own interest.

Nobody asks you to give donations...

So many big people are practicing Sahaj Marg who are
literally financially sound... They don't need to ask anybody..!

Coming to the Marriages done in SRCM..
The marriages are conducted by SRCM only for those
Who approach them to select a partner for them from the ashram
because they believe the practicing partners.
They will give you details of some suitable persons and asks
for your response. Only after your approval, you will be married to your partner.
That's your choice but not of SRCM.

So don't even Dare to blame SRCM..!

First of all know about then before you speak or post anything.

I am a graduate student in USA.. And still believe and
follow SRCM because I Know What They Are..!

    I won't be anonymous ..
